Trellis 360 Discussion Series: Modern Learners: Time Poverty and Impact on Student Experience

This is the fourth discussion in our current 360 Discussion Series on Modern Learners: Navigating Multiple Personas and Commitments.

The results of our 2023 Student Financial Wellness Survey show 21% of respondents identify as parents and 38% of respondents consider themselves workers attending school rather than students who work. These modern learners must prioritize their personal lives over a credential pursuit; however, they are working toward increased economic mobility in the future.

In this discussion, Dr. Debra Chromy, Dr. Linda Garza Battles, Dr. Jennifer Turner, and Dr. Claire Wladis talk about the impact time scarcity has on credential attainment for modern learners.
